Pakistan has reported 961 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours — the first time since January 4 that daily infections have dropped below 1,000 — and 13 more deaths.

Moreover, the positivity rate was recorded at 2.5 per cent, the fifth day it has remained under 5pc.

The total caseload is now 1,502,641 while the death toll is 30,053.

The countrywide breakdown is as follows:

  • Sindh: 373 cases
  • Punjab: 302 cases, 7 deaths
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 132 cases, 3 deaths
  • Islamabad: 97 cases, 1 death
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 32 cases
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 15 cases, 1 death
  • Balochistan: 10 cases, 1 death
