DADU, Nov 28: The executive district officer revenue of the Jamshoro district has recommended registration of cases against seven mukhtiarkars and seven tapedars for making fake entries and tampering with the revenue record relating to 25,000 acres in Kotri and Thana Bula Khan talukas.

Under the directives of the Sindh government, a team of revenue department headed by EDO revenue Jamshoro, Ghulam Akbar Leghari, detected fake entries in the record of rights of revenue lands in Jamshoro district.

The team detected fake entries of about 25,000 acres in the revenue record carried out from June 1 to November 28, 2005.

On Monday, the EDO Revenue Jamshoro cancelled 7,990 entries in records of rights of revenue land in three dehs which included Babbar Band, Hatal Buth and Kilo Khohar along super highway, Nooriabad in Thana Bula Khan taluka.

These entries were made from 1982 to 2005 in the name of some influential persons of Karachi, Kotri, Thana Bula Khan, Hyderabad, Thatta and Lahore with the connivance of local mukhtiarkars and tapedars.

The revenue investigation team completed its report on Monday and sent it to Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim and Senior Member, Board of Revenue for registration of corruption cases against mukhtiarkars of Thana Bula Khan and Kotri, including Allah Dino Leghari, Ghulam Nabi, Sabir Hussain, Abdul Ghafoor, Gul Mohammad, Raza Mohammad, Mohammad Safar Channa and tapedars Shamsuddin, Ghulam Nabi, Sher Dil, Abdul Jabbar, Mushtaq, Walidad and Moosa Solangi and entry holders of lands.

The EDO Revenue Jamshoro, Ghulam Akbar Leghari told Dawn that entries regarding 25,000 acres of land were detected in revenue record of Kotri and Thana Bula Khan talukas.

After issuing notices, he had cancelled fake entries of 7,990 acres of in the revenue record in the name of influential persons of different areas of country.

According to EDO revenue, the cancelled entries included Ghulam Rasool Jokhio, Haji Qadir Bux Palari, Haji Ramzan Palari, Shamsuddin, Sikandar Ali, Faqir Mohammad Palari, Mohammad Ishaque, Kashif Ali, Imran, Abdul Sattar, Ashraf, Umed Ali, Bhawan Kumar, Dewan Khemraj, Ghulam Mohammad, Mumtaz Ali, Murtaza and 200 other industrialists, businessmen and politicians.

He said that he had cancelled their lands using his power vested in him under section 164 of the Land Revenue Act 1967 as they were found fake.

He said market price of one acre was Rs100,000 hence the revenue department Jamshoro has unearthed a fraud of million of rupees.
