Sangla Hill incident probe begins

NANKANA SAHIB, Nov 28: The district & session judge Sheikh Mohammad Yousuf, has begun inquiry into Sangla Hill incident. The probe is being held in Nankana Sahib. The local Christian chiefs, Tajamul Pervez and father Missal Dilawer, Chaudhry Fateh Jang advocate, member Tehsil Council Sangla Hill, Sultan advocate, Saqib, Sohail Bhatti, Zulfiqar Athwall Masih, Samoan and others have recorded their statements.

About 200 members of the Christian community from Faisalabad, Lahore and adjoining areas were also present during the occasion. The tragic incident occurred when a news spread that desecration of the Holy Quran had taken place.

An angry mob burned down three churches, two houses and damaged Christian property.—Online
