LAHORE: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill says political analyst Mohsin Beg has been arrested under the anti-terrorism law since he opened fire on law enforcement agency officials, injured them and kept them in illegal detention.

“Since he pointed a gun at the state, the state will respond to his act,” he said while talking to newsmen here on Wednesday.

Mr Gill also alleged that Mohsin Beg had visited the prime minister and sought a hefty amount to control the media.

Answering a question, Gill said Jahangir Khan Tareen had never spoken against the prime minister or the PTI and he was still a member of the party.

Commenting on PML-Q minister Moonis Elahi’s statement about opposition parties’ meeting with the government allies, the SAPM said the PML-Q leader had exposed the opposition.
