Pakistan has reported 2,465 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, down from 2,597 a day earlier.

In the last 24 hours, 49 more people succumbed to the virus compared to 27 yesterday. The national positivity rate stands at 5 per cent.

The total caseload is now 1,491,423 while the death toll is 29,877.

The nationwide breakdown is as follows:

  • Sindh: 634 cases, 15 deaths
  • Punjab: 590 cases, 10 deaths
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 966 cases, 20 deaths
  • Balochistan: 22 cases
  • Islamabad: 111 cases, 2 deaths
  • Gilgit Baltistan: 4 cases
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 138 cases, 2 deaths
