Arrest warrants against editor issued

GILGIT, Nov 27: Northern Areas Chief Court Registrar Mir Jameelur Rahman has issued arrest warrant for the editor of a local weekly for not appearing before the court in connection with an article printed in his weekly last month.

Sources said that the Northern Areas chief court chairman and its members had taken suo motu notice of the article about the performance of the court in published the weekly, Bade-Shimaal (Gilgit-Baltistan), and issued notices to its writer Abu Ariyan Nadir and chief editor Abid Abdullah to appear before the chief court, but the latter did not turn up.—Correspondent
