LAHORE, Nov 27: President Pervez Musharraf on Sunday graced the Lahore Race Club (LRC) by an impromptu visit and saw horse races in floodlights at the Racecourse.
On arrival, the president was received by LRC chairman, Tariq Aziz and stewards. He was given a standing ovation by the race fans, who were surprised to see the head of state at the club for the second time during this year.
The president, stayed for nearly two hours at the club and saw three races.
Mr Tariq Aziz also introduced to the President, the champion jockey Shahid Rehman extolling his saddle skills. Shahid had won November Cup on Welcome Boss.
Fancied four-year-old bay colt, Welcome Boss, prevailed over his seven rivals in a grand finish to land the November Cup.
He beat Freedom Dancer by over five lengths. Brave Majesty and Stereo Nation completed the frame among eight runners.
