TOBA TEK SINGH: Special Judge Faisalabad Child Protection Qamaruz Zaman on Monday rejected the bail plea of a man who was in jail along with his second wife for allegedly torturing their minor daughter some three weeks ago.

The bail plea of the second wife of Sahil Mirza of Mansoorabad, Asma Bibi, had already been rejected by the court.

The counsel for the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB), Mohsin Raza Malik, and prosecution legal officer Adil Gondal informed the court that due to the severe torture by her father and step mother, the condition of minor girl, Zainab, was still serious in hospital.

They stated that a number of close circuit TV (CCTV) footage recovered from the house of the couple also proved repeated torture of Zainal in the past. They added that torture tools had also been recovered from the couple’s house.

After hearing the arguments, the judge rejected the bail application of Sahil Mirza.
