Pakistan has reported 3,338 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, down from 4,874 a day earlier. It marks the second straight day that less than 5,000 infections have been confirmed.

Meanwhile, 38 more people succumbed to the virus compared to 30 yesterday.

The national positivity rate stands at 7.5 per cent. It has remained below 10pc for a week.

The countrywide breakdown is as follows:

  • Sindh: 863 cases, 14 deaths
  • Punjab: 1,052 cases, 10 deaths
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 920 cases, 12 deaths
  • Balochistan: 34 cases
  • Islamabad: 291 cases, 2 death
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 5 cases
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 173 cases
