Pakistan has reported 4,874 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, down from 6,137 a day earlier.

In the last 24 hours, 30 more people succumbed to the virus compared to 28 yesterday.

The national positivity rate stands at 8.7 per cent, marking the sixth straight day it has remained below 10pc.

The total caseload is now 1,459,773, while the death toll has risen to 29,478.

The countrywide breakdown is as follows:

  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 1,480 cases, 4 deaths
  • Sindh: 1,428 cases, 13 deaths
  • Punjab: 1,196 cases, 12 deaths
  • Islamabad: 465 cases, 1 death
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 213 cases
  • Balochistan: 74 cases
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 18 cases
