Pakistan has reported 6,137 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, down from 6,377 a day earlier.

In the last 24 hours, 28 more people succumbed to the virus compared to 48 yesterday.

The national positivity rate stands at 9.7 per cent, marking the fifth straight day it has remained below 10pc.

The countrywide breakdown is as follows:

  • Sindh: 1,952 cases, 9 deaths
  • Punjab: 1,597 cases, 11 deaths
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 1,515 cases, 6 deaths
  • Balochistan: 77 cases
  • Islamabad: 499 cases, 2 deaths
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 36 cases
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 461 cases
