PESHAWAR, Nov 26: A United Kingdom-based relief organization, the Frontier Relief Fund, will spend Rs2.2 million on the repair and reconstruction of mosques in the quake-hit areas of the NWFP. The organization distributed relief items among 100 families in the quake-hit areas.

Zaman Khan, a UK national of Pakistani origin who runs the charity, had collected funds from the Pakistani community of Birmingham for quake victims.

Mr Khan told Dawn on phone from Balakot that the Pakistani community had contributed generously for the relief activities.

“The situation in the quake-hit areas is getting worse as the winter is approaching and they need more help,” Mr Khan said.
