LAHORE: The finals of both the Happy Cow Cheese Pakistan Polo Cup and the JS Bank Maj Gen Saeed-uz-Zaman Janjua Memorial Polo Cup were set on Friday.

At the Lahore Polo Club, Barry’s/HS Group and Guard Group won their semi-finals to set up a title clash in the Pakistan Cup.

Ahmed Zubair Butt’s four goals saw Barry’s/HS Group overpower Platinum Homes 7½-4

while Taimur Ali Malik’s treble saw Guard Group edge past Zacky Farms 4-3 in a closely-contested clash.

The subsidiary final of the Pakistan Club was also set between Barry’s/Remington Pharma and Warm Waters. The former rode on Hamza Mawaz Khan’s six goals to edge ZS Polo 7-6 while the latter prevailed over Airlink Eagles 2-1 thanks to a double by Shah Shamyl Alam.

In the semi-finals of the Memorial Polo Cup at Jinnah Polo Fields, Sheikhoo Steel/Diamond Paints and Asean Polo emerged victorious.

Saqib Khan Khakwani’s four goals helped Sheikhoo Steel/Diamond Points outclass Jubilee Insurance 14½-7 in their eight-chukker match while three goals each from Raja Samiullah and Raja Jalal powered Asean Polo past FG/Din 6-5.
