KARACHI, Nov 25: Sindh Assembly members of Muttahida Qaumi Movement have condemned violence against activists of All-Pakistan Muttahida Students Organization by Islami Jamiat Talba, a student wing of Jamaat-i-Islami.

Accusing the JI of disturbing the peace in educational institutions once again through its offshoot organization, the MPAs demanded President Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad and Chief Minister Arbab Rahim to initiate action against terrorists of JI and IJT.

They recalled that IJT activists had unleashed terrorism in DJ Science and SM Arts colleges a few days back and an APMSO worker was wounded in their firing.

Likewise, they pointed out, the IJT hoodlums had targeted three APMSO workers of the City College, Fahad, Khurram and Rizwan at Karimabad bus stop on Thursday.

They said that on one hand the JI through its outfit were bent upon to disturb peace in educational institutions and on the other were taking out rallies and demonstration. “Even today the JI and IJT’s armed persons made an attempt to attack on the Sindh Assembly Building and its sanctity was trampled for which it deserved condemnation,” they said.

The MPAs said that the JI and its outfit had never liked peace in educational institutions. On the contrary, they said, Jamaat-i-Islami was attempting to destroy the peace of educational institutions and in the city.

Meanwhile APMSO’s in charge of central ad-hoc committee, Tahir Yusuf, and the committee members condemned violence against Prof Afzal Bukhari of S.M. Arts College.

In their joint statement, they said that the so-called religious party on one side expressing sympathy with the teachers by holding demonstrations and on the other its terrorists had unleashed brutal violence on innocent teachers. They said that Prof Afzal Bukhari was also targeted on Feb 14, which deserved condemnation.
