Pakistan has detected 5,196 new cases of the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, down from 6,357 a day earlier, along with 15 additional fatalities.

Moreover, the national positivity rate was recorded at 10.17 per cent, marking six straight days that it has remained above 10pc.

The total caseload has risen to 1,386,348 while the death toll is 29,137.

The countrywide breakdown during the last 24 hours is as follows:

  • Sindh: 1,790 cases, 7 deaths
  • Punjab: 1,534 cases, 2 deaths
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 854 cases, 3 deaths
  • Islamabad: 685 cases, 3 deaths
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 260 cases
  • Balochistan: 57 cases
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 16 cases
