Man held over hotel room murder

KARACHI: Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a man for murdering a youth in a Saddar hotel a day before.

They added that the throat -cut body of Yajid Ali, 30, was found from a fourth-floor room of The Palace Hotel.

Area police officer Meer Mohammed said the victim came from Buner on Jan 22 and stayed at the hotel where he was found murdered.

The crime scene unit was called at the spot for collection of evidence. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre to fulfill medico-legal formalities.

Acting on a tip-off, the Saddar police on Tuesday arrested suspected killer Osama Khan and recovered the victim’s mobile phone from his possession.

Without providing any further details, they claimed that the murder weapon was also recovered from him.
