LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has started making recoveries in the corruption case against PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif’s son-in-law Imran Ali Yousaf.

NAB Lahore Director General Jamil Ahmed has ordered quick recoveries in the case. Besides, the NAB through the government has already taken up the issue of extradition of Yousuf with the UK authorities.

The properties owned by Shehbaz’s daughter Rabia and Yousaf had been attached because of them being absconders in the Punjab Saaf Pani Company corruption reference. The other main suspect in this case, former Punjab Power Development Company chief financial officer Ikram Naveed, has been on bail after entering a plea bargain with NAB. An accountability court had approved a Rs490 million plea bargain.

Imran Ali Yousaf has been declared a proclaimed offender by the accountability court. “His red notice has been issued and request for extradition has also been moved,” a source told Dawn on Tuesday.

“Recoveries from his properties – 67 units in Ali Tower Plaza Gulberg Lahore and 50 units in Al Trade Centre Lahore (shops, offices and apartments), shares in the companies registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan have been made,” he said.
