LAHORE: A newly-married girl was allegedly kidnapped from the Shaikh Zayed Hospital on Saturday while the police lodged a case on Monday on the complaint of her father, Ali.

He told the police that he visited the hospital along with his 17-year-old daughter (K) for her treatment on Jan 15. He said after waiting for two hours or so outside the ward, when he went to the doctor, he found she was nowhere.

He said his daughter was kidnapped by unidentified people.

COP SHOT DEAD: A police constable was found shot dead in the washroom of a private education university in Iqbal Town area on Monday.

Identified as Bashir Ahmad, 55, the constable was deployed at the university, a police official said. He said he was found dead with two bullet wounds in his abdomen that proved fatal.

The official said as soon as the university employees heard gunfires, they rushed to the washroom which was locked from inside. They alerted the police, which reached the site along with forensic experts, unlocked the washroom and recovered him dead.

He said the police experts were investigating the case whether it was a suicide incident or an accidental death.
