DADU, Nov 23: The affected SMC teachers of Dadu district observed a token hunger strike on Wednesday and vowed to continue protest till payment of salary of last eleven months. The teachers appointed under SMC schemes are observing token hunger strike since last 77 days. The District Nazim Dadu, Karim Ali Jatoi, on Wednesday visited the hunger strike camp of the teachers outside local press club and asked them to end their token hunger strike with the assurance that the matter would be resolved but the teachers refused to oblige the nazim and accept the district nazim’s assurance and continued their protest.

Earlier, president of SMC Teachers Association district Mohammad Ali Panhwar told reporters that they had opened closed primary schools in the district but education officials were not releasing their salary for eleven months.

They alleged that a huge amount was embezzled by officials from SMC funds.

They said that they visited the offices of education minister, secretary, the district nazim, Dadu, but their problem was not solved.
