SUKKUR: Bodies to check prices

SUKKUR, Nov 23: The DCO and controller of prices and supplies, Sukkur, Shafiq Ahmad Khoso, has constituted price committees at district and taluka levels for checking prices of essential commodities.

The committees will monitor and check prices of essential commodities and are authorized to take action against profiteers, hoarders, black marketers under the Price Control and Prevention of Profiteering and Hoarding Act, Sindh Essential Commodities Price Control and the Prevention of Profiteering and Hoarding Ordinance, 2005.

They will send a daily list of fine imposed on profiteers and hoarders.

Admissions: The admission coordinator of the Sardar Ghulam Mohammad Khan Mahar Medical College has announced schedule for admission to first year MBBS through the Sukkur selection centre.

The admissions would be given against 28 seats (self finance) under the Institution Education Assistance Programme.

Under the programme, eight seats each are reserved for Sukkur and Ghotki districts and 12 seats for the Khairpur district.

Candidates who have appeared in the entry test of 2005/2006 can submit applications from Nov 29 to Dec 5 and classes will start on Dec 15.

Candidates who desire to claim admissions against seats reserved for disabled people have been advised to submit their original disability certificates.
