KARACHI: The demolition of Nasla Tower continued on Saturday on the orders of the Supreme Court.

Karachi Commissioner Iqbal Memon had recently visited Nasla Tower and the site of Tejori Heights and inspected the work.

Official sources said that the assistant commissioner concerned briefed the commissioner on his visit to Tejori Heights.

The commissioner directed to take necessary steps to protect the plot of demolished Tejori Heights.

The sources said that Assistant Commissioner-Liaqatabad Sana Tariq and the supervising engineer on Nasla Tower briefed the commissioner that three machines were used in the demolition work.

AC Tariq informed the commissioner that for the demolition of upper floors, fewer machines were used and limited labour was being employed.

“It would be possible to use more machines to demolish the parking floor and four to five machines could be involved in the process,” she said.

The commissioner directed to take all safety precautions in the demolition operation and ensure that the work would be completed as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, the commissioner visited the National Bank Sports Complex here on Saturday. He said sports promotion fields would be established in the city.
