KARACHI: A fire broke out in an apartment building near Liaquatabad damaging a flat completely on Tuesday.

Fire officials said the blaze erupted in the first-floor flat of Apsara Apartment off Shahrah-i-Pakistan in Federal Capital Area in the second half of the day.

A fire engine was dispatched along with four firemen, who managed to put out the blaze after more than two hours.

“There was no report of casualty as the occupants evacuated the apartment as soon as the fire broke out. However, the blaze has badly damaged the apartment. The firemen suspected that it was a short circuit that caused the fire,” said an official.
