DADU: Suspected robbers shot dead owner of a mart and wounded his brother before one of the suspects was killed in an exchange of fire in Taj Colony, Nawabshah, on Sunday, onlookers said.

According to reports reaching here, three armed suspects entered the mart located at a petrol pump in Taj Colony and demanded cash from its owner,

Saleem Rehmani. He and his brother posed resistance prompting the suspects to open fire, killing Saleem and wounding his brother, Waseem.

Some workers in the mart also took out weapons in defence and in the ensuing clash, one of the suspects was killed, the reports suggested.

Officials from the Bullo Ja Qaba police station took the bodies and wounded man to the Peoples Medical Hospital, Nawabshah.

Eyewitness said they were sitting at a hotel within the petrol pump’s vicinity and saw three armed men entering the mart. They started looting cash and goods inside, they said.

However, Nawabshah SSP Amir Saud Magsi believed that the incident was linked with some personal enmity.
