MULTAN, Nov 21: Three people, including two children, were killed when the roof of their house collapsed in Khajjiwala locality on Monday morning. Haram Gate police said due to reconstruction in an adjacent house, the roof of the old building of Abdus Sattar’s house caved in, killing Arsalan, Hina, 14, and Ramazan Mai, 75.

Meanwhile, district civil defence officer Shahid Pervaiz said after the Oct 8 quake, he had submitted a list of some 250 dangerous buildings in the old walled city. Of these, 34 were termed very dangerous.

He said the district government was studying a plan to demolish and reconstruct these buildings, however, the inmates of these houses were not willing to vacate the premises.—APP
