HYDERABAD, Nov 21: The vice-chancellor of the Jama ul Arbiat ul Rasaat in Damascus, Dr Sheikh Mohiyuddin Makri, has said that the introduction of reforms in the Arab countries is their internal matter and no country has a right to interfere in their matters.
He was talking to journalists on Monday at the grave of the father of MNA Sahibzada Abul Khair Mohammad Zubair.
He said that there was no harm if reforms were introduced in the Arab world.
Dr Makri said that Islam did not permit terrorism or suicide bombings as it led to the death of innocent people.
He said that Islam had given the message of peace and brotherhood.
The vice-chancellor said there was no room for suicide bombings in our divine law.
Referring to the threats of the US to Syria, he quoted a saying of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) that Allah Almighty would protect the land.
Dr Makri, who is also a chief editor of Al-Akhbar Arabi, said that the people of Damascus enjoyed freedom of expression.
MNA Zubair asked the vice-chancellor to grant scholarships and admissions to the Pakistani students in his university.
PETITION: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, here on Monday granted two weeks to the Sindh education secretary, finance secretary, DCO, Nawabshah EDO education and other officials of the Nawabshah district government’s education department to decide the case of two petitioners, including Atya Khatoon and Musarat Khan.
The petitioners were primary school teachers.
The court also ordered to send the copy of the court order to the education secretary.
The petitioners said that in mid-90s a large number of ghost teachers were recruited in the education department through defunct Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Larkana and Sukkur directorates of education.
The ghost teachers affected the efficiency and working of the teachers selected on merit.
They said that one Ms Riffat Zohra, daughter of Manzoor Hussain, a female junior school teacher, Ms Sadori Khokhar, Ms Rukhsana Soomro and Ms Moomal Khokhar along with the petitioners were appointed as primary school teachers in Nawabshah.
They were affected due to the ghost teachers.
They said that the district education officer of Sanghar and Nawabshah had dubbed the teachers as ‘ghosts’.
