GUJRANWALA, Nov 19: A team of the Federal Investigation Agency’s passport cell took into custody seven youths from Lala Musa railway station, who were allegedly being smuggled to Greece, and later arrested a human smuggler in a raid on Saturday.

Reports said the passport cell team, on a tip-off, raided an express train and took Majid Ali, Naeem Shehzad, Ferhat Abbas, Wajid Ali, Muhammad Ashref, Sultan Ali and Imran Ahmed into custody.

The youths told an investigating officer that an alleged human smuggler, Muhammad Al-Kareem, had received Rs300,000 from them, while Rs400,000 more were to be paid to him after reaching Greece. They said that they were being taken to Iran to cross the border.

Later, the team raided the outhouse of the accused and arrested him.
