PESHAWAR, Nov 18: Provincial Health Minister Inayatullah Khan on Friday stressed the need for an effective strategy to combat diabetes. Speaking at a ceremony held at the Hayatabad Medical Complex in connection with the World Diabetes Day, he said such programmes should be used to create awareness among people about various diseases and ways and means to avoid them.
Prof Shad Mohammad Khan, Prof Arshad Javed, Dr Mohammad Iqbal and Dr A.H. Aamir also spoke at the ceremony organized by the Diabetes and Endocrinology Unit of the hospital.
The minister asked the authorities concerned to make plans to improve the performance of hospitals in the province.
