Nine officials booked for corruption

NAWABSHAH, Nov 18: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE), Nawabshah, on Thursday booked nine officials of the food department, including four district food controllers and three food inspectors, for misusing Rs26.9 million of public money. The booked officials were Mohammad Ayub Rind, Ali Hassan Rind, Adnan Magsi, Aijaz Unnar, Nazar Mohammad Lund, Syed Mir Mohammad Shah, Ghulam Ali Mirza, Rafique Ahmed Rajpar and Mohammad Yaqoob Baloch.

ACE circle officer Aijaz Abbasi said that Nazar Mohammad Lund, Ali Hassan Rind and Aijaz Ali Unnar were already arrested while more raids were being conducted to arrest the remaining accused.

MEETING: DCO Abdul Razzaq held a meeting here on Thursday with the vice-chancellor, employees, teachers and students of the Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science and Technology.

The meeting was held at the library hall of the university.

The DCO was informed that the associations of professors, teachers and employees had settled their problems with the vice-chancellor and had presented 24 demands.

The DCO said that there were some problems between the vice-chancellor and the professors, teachers and employees. Therefore he was asked by the chief minister to meet with them and present a detailed report.
