ISLAMABAD, Nov 17: Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said on Thursday that Indian authorities would hopefully expedite the procedure of clearance to the Kashmiris who want to cross the Line of Control (LoC) to see their kins on the other side.

According to agreement, both the countries pledged to try their best to wind up the clearance procedure within ten days and this commitment would hopefully be honoured by the parties, she told a private television channel.

Answering a question, she said, no unnecessary delay is being made by the Indian authorities, adding that they have had handed over a list of 120 people to Pakistan on Nov 14.

She said the Indians had some technical compulsions in opening the crossing points on daily basis and a schedule had been prepared up to Dec 12 in this connection.

Ms Tasnim said that an earlier clearance would help the Kashmiris to visit across the LoC on their convenient dates.

Asked how much people would cross the LoC on Thursday, she said, according to the mode of travel, it is impossible to divulge the exact figure.

She said when the people travelled through bus service, their particulars could be exchanged but when they travelled by foot the situation was different.—APP
