LAHORE, Nov 16: Medium-pacer Umar Gul and Fazle Akbar put defending champions Peshawar in sight of a big first innings lead against Multan in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy at the Arbab Niaz Stadium, Peshawar on Wednesday.

Peshawar, who propelled by Yasir Hameed’s 174 piled up 418 after resuming the first innings at 307-4, had reduced Multan to 137 for six wickets in the first innings by the close of play.

Umar (3-67) and Fazle (2-11) shared the bowling honours. Only Asif Iqbal (42) batted with any degree of confidence for Multan.
