LAHORE: As many as five people died of dengue and 306 more tested positive in the province during the last 24 hours.
As many as 22,616 dengue cases were reported in Punjab during this year and 105 people lost their lives. Three dengue patients died in Lahore and one each in Khanewal and Gujranwala.
Some 225 dengue cases were reported in Lahore, 21 in Rawalpindi, 18 in Gujranwala, four each in Kasur, Rahim Yar Khan, Sargodha and Sheikhupura, three each in Attock, DG Khan, Faisalabad and Narowal, two each in Gujrat and Chiniot.
As many as 1,487 patients were admitted to hospitals in the province.
Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department secretary Imran Sikander Baloch said the number of beds were being increased in Lahore on a daily basis due to new patients load.
COVID: Two persons lost their lives due to coronavirus and 94 cases were reported in the province during the last 24 hours.
One patient lost his life in DG Khan and another in Pindi.
The positivity ratio was 0.7pc in the province, 1.3pc in Lahore, 0.5pc in Faisalabad, 0.9pc in Rawalpindi, 0.6pc in Multan and 0.1pc in Gujranwala.
