China thanks Pakistan for support

ISLAMABAD, Nov 16: Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing, telephoned Foreign Minister Khurshid on Wednesday and thanked him for Pakistan’s support and advocacy of China’s inclusion into the Saarc as an observer. Mr Zhaoxing also assured Mr Kasuri of Chinese support on the eve of the International Donors Conference to discuss the rehabilitation and relief of the earthquake victims.

The foreign minister thanked his Chinese counterpart for the dispatch of teams for reconstruction assessment and for seismological survey, mapping and zoning. He also lauded the Chinese support in cash and in relief goods.

Mr Kasuri told the Chinese foreign minister that he was looking forward to Chinese participation in the donors conference.—QA
