Pakistan has recorded less than 300 coronavirus cases for the fifth straight day, reporting 270 infections during the last 24 hours.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre, 32,006 tests were conducted during this period. The total number of cases in the country has risen to 1,280,362. Meanwhile, the death toll rose to 28,628 after 10 more fatalities were reported.

The positivity rate also remained below one per cent and was recorded as 0.84 per cent. Punjab reported the highest number of cases with 103 while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa followed with 86 cases.

Breakdown of deaths and cases reported:

  • Punjab: 103 cases, 4 deaths
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 86 cases, 4 deaths
  • Sindh: 43 cases, 1 death
  • Islamabad: 19 cases, 1 death
  • Balochistan: 14 cases
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 3 cases
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 2 cases
