KARACHI, Nov 16: In all, 4,700 water courses would be lined in Sindh. This was stated by Project Director of the Monitoring Unit of Water Courses Cementing Programme in the Province, Mohammad Younus Dhagha.

He was briefing Sindh Chief Minister about the implementation of the water courses lining programme in the province at a meeting here on Wednesday.

Younus informed that a total of 4,700 water courses would be lined in the province and for this 11,579 applications have been received. Of these, registration of 3,614 has been undertaken.

Technical approval has been accorded to 1,799 water courses and of these ground work has started for 1,084.

Younus further informed that lining of 621 water courses is being pursued speedily.—APP
