BATTAGRAM: The people of Allai here on Monday organised a demonstration to protest the non-availability of a lady doctor and missing facilities at the tehsil headquarters hospital.

The protesters said that the hospital had been without a lady doctor for more than eight months. They said that female medics including LHVs provided medical treatment to women patients that sometimes led to complications.

The protesters were led by Tehreek-i-Inqilaab chairman Naeem Shaheen.

They said that due to non-availability of lady doctor in the hospital, they were compelled to visit Battagram and other districts for treatment of their women.

Naeem Shaheen said that there were two sanctioned posts of women medical officer and a post of gynaecologist but there was not a single female health practitioner in the facility.
