SUKKUR: Pakistan Peoples Party Sindh president Nisar Khuhro has said that Local Govt Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah’s recent meeting with former governor Dr Ishratul Ebad [in Dubai] was a routing political contact.

“Such contacts and meetings do happen in politics,” he said while replying a question posed to him by a reporter outside the Sukkur Accountability court on Saturday.

Mr Khuhro obtained his pre-arrest bail in a sum of Rs1 million in a National Accountability Bureau reference against him which pertained to alleged mega corruption in the food department.

Mr Khuhro claimed that two offices of MQM-London had already been opened in Sindh.

“They [MQM-P leaders and members] have the freedom of working in Sindh but if they again started chanting the mantra of Altaf Hussain, then it will make no sense because, I guess, there is no MPA of MQM-London sitting in the Sindh Assembly,” he said.

In reply to another question, he said it was too early to say that there was a forward bloc developing within the MQM-P.
