ISLAMABAD, Nov 15: The National Commission on Human Development (NCHD) plans to open 200,000 literacy centres throughout the country in the next five years. This was said by NCHD Chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf at the opening session of the national consultation conference on post- literacy here on Tuesday.
He said the NCHD had set up 13,000 literacy centres in 76 districts of the country during the last three years.
He said that four per cent of the GDP would be allocated for the education sector in next year’s budget.
The NCHD chairman said the government would involve all NGOs in attaining the targets of universal literacy in the country.
