THE after-effects of Covid on students are being evaluated worldwide. One of the terms being used these days is brain fog, which is not a medical or scientific term but is used to describe how slow, fuzzy or spaced out one feels.

Poor concentration, confusion, lack of mental clarity, headache, and memory loss are some of the symptoms of brain fog. The rate at which people suffering from brain fog slide down to different forms of mental disorders is also alarming.

Currently, I am suffering from this, too, and I know how things have become difficult for me. While doing something new or presenting something, I feel blank. As a mature adult, I can diagnose and handle my problem, but schoolchildren and college students are not capable of doing that.

It is the responsibility of society, especially the government and the school administrations, to assist students suffering from brain fog in a proper way. If we fail to do the right thing in the right manner at this stage, we may ruin the life of bright students as well as the bright future of Pakistan.
