QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo has approved an additional amount of Rs2 billion for the provincial Public Endowment Fund and Balochistan Education Fund. He also announced two-month remission for prisoners.

Official sources said on Saturday that the chief minister directed transfer of powers to the lower level for payment of medical dues of government employees.

Mr Bizenjo issued directives for taking immediate steps for the rehabilitation of Harnai earthquake’s victims and sought a report on the steps so far taken. The government should expedite the process of releasing rehabilitation funds for the earthquake-hit people, he added.

The sources said that directives had also been given for increasing the number of seats in educational institutions in other provinces for students belonging to Balochistan.
