MANSEHRA: The police have arrested a man for allegedly assaulting a university student and threatening to kill her if she approached the police.

“We have arrested an accused, who forcibly took a university student to his residence and assaulted her,” investigation officer of the case, Abdul Hameed told reporters on Saturday.

He said the woman, 20, was waiting for her university bus in the morning when the accused, Abdu Hadi, forcibly took her to his residence in Faugi Foundation area and abused her.

“The accused also snatched the cellular phone of the victim and threatened to kill her if she opened her mouth about the incident,” Mr Hameed said.

He said the accused was arrested under sections 376/342/506/411 of PPC.

Meanwhile, a married woman was allegedly kidnapped in Bagrian area Oghi on Saturday.

The police after lodging FIR under section 365-B of PPC started raids for her recovery.

According to the FIR, two accused, namely Mohammad Arshad and Mohammad Riaz, kidnapped the woman and took her to some unknown place.
