ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued a notification to waive a penal surcharge on goods not cleared within the prescribed period.

A customs notification SRO1399 was issued here to remit the penal surcharge on goods that are cleared from warehouse within 30 days from Oct 27, 2021.

The exemption is extended to the existing warehousing period of already in-bonded goods for a further period of 30 days from the date of commencement of this notification. However, the notification will not apply to the goods which were either abandoned or auctioned, the FBR notification added.
