PESHAWAR: City police here on Wednesday claimed to have busted three methamphetamine (ice drug) factories in the limits of Khazana police station on the outskirts of the city and recovered a big quantity of the drug.

Addressing a press conference at Chamkani police station, SP Rural circle Sajjad Hussain said the factories set up in residential area were producing methamphetamine and ecstasy pills.

He said three suspects had also been taken into custody for running these factories.

Mr Sajjad said the suspects had rented houses in Maqsoodabad area. He said the police seized five kilogrammes of methamphetamine, 146,000 ecstasy pills, 147 kilogrammes of chemical and machinery used to produce the drug.

He said the police also recovered about Rs1 million cash, two cars and three motorcycles which were being used to transport the drugs. The police identified the suspects as Shahid Gul, Umees and Wasil.
