NAWABSHAH, JAN 24: More than 3,100 candidates have submitted their applications with the office of SP, Nawabshah, for recruitment against 76 seats of police constables.

With the separation of investigation and executive wings in the police department under the new local government set-up, these vacancies were created to meet the requirements of the department.

These candidates would not only go through medical test, physical fitness test, but would also have to clear a written test.

The number of candidates applying against 76 seats is an ample proof of the ever-increasing unemployment.

PPP ACTIVISTS: The activists of the Pakistan Peoples Party and Asif Zardari Rehai Committee observed token hunger strike in front of the press club here on Thursday.

Led by Ali Nawaz Chandio, senior vice president, Rehai Committee, Nawabshah district, they demanded immediate release of Asif Ali Zardari.

They also demanded of the PPP Sindh chief, Nisar Khuhro, to immediately remove Dost Ali Rind, president PPP, Nawabshah city , otherwise they would resign from the party membership.

KILLED: One person was killed and another was seriously injured in a road accident, near Sakrand, on Tuesday.

A truck (No 2588) hit a motorcycle on the National Highway, Sakrand, killing Gulzar Khan Khoso, 25, and injuring his father, Kamil Khan Khoso.

DEFAULTERS: Six defaulters of the Agricultural Development Bank of Pakistan were arrested on Wednesday from Naushahro Feroze during the ongoing operation against the defaulter.

They were later released after the payment of their loans.

EDUCATION FUND: The Sindh Education Department has placed an amount of Rs28.392 million at the disposal of the District Co- ordination Officer, Nawabshah, for further distribution to school management committees (SMCs) for upgrading the educational facilities, reports APP.

In a letter to the Zila Nazim of Nawabshah, the secretary of education, Sindh, has expressed his concern over non-release of funds to SMCs, only because the committee have not yet been constituted.
