KARACHI: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) announced that CNG stations across Sindh would remain closed for 10 days starting from Saturday (today) in order to maintain gas supply to domestic customers.

The SSGC said in a statement on Friday that the CNG stations would close at 8am on Saturday (today) and were open at 8am on Oct 25.

The news of sudden and prolonged closure triggered panic buy among the owners of vehicles being run on gas.

Citing reasons behind this apparently unusual step that would likely to cause people’s rush on petrol pumps, the SSGC statement pointed out that the phenomenon of reduced gas supplies was primarily because of supply issues from gas fields owned by exploration and production companies.
