Lawyer sentenced

LAHORE, Nov 11: The Lahore High Court on Friday sentenced Advocate Mehr Zakir Husain to contempt of court. Advocate Zakir, who had been appearing as a counsel for Mohammad Rafiq, was found by the court to have committed contempt by giving wrong information that his client had approached the additional district and sessions judge in a case. The information proved to be wrong and the court issued him a contempt of court notice last month. He was sentenced to imprisonment till the rising of the court and fined Rs5,000 which he paid. His client was also sentenced to one month in prison with the same amount in fine which was also paid.
