KHAIRPUR, Nov 11: The Khairpur chapter of the Pakistan People’s Party took out a procession and staged a demonstration in Pir-Jo-Goth on Friday against arrest of PPP leader Syed Zaman Shah Rashidi and registration of a case against him.

The procession, led by Syed Samiullah Shah Rashidi, started from Mohalla Deenal Shah and after passing through main roads of the town, including Pir-jo- Goth-Khairpur road, High School Road, Old Anaj Mandi Road, reached Mohib where protesters staged a demonstration.

Due to the demonstration, vehicular traffic on Ahmedpur Road, Anaj Mandi Road and other roads remained suspended for one hour.

Speaking on the occasion, PPP leaders Syed Samiullah Shah Rashidi, Parvez Abbasi, Ali Gohar Kanhar, Babul Makrani and others condemned the arrest of Syed Zaman Shah Rashidi and said that fake cases were registered against PPP local leaders and workers in the district.

They said that it seems as if joining the PPP has become a crime in the district.

Former district nazim Nafisa Shah along with PPP MPAs, ADP union council nazims, PPP women’s wing office-bearers and workers met with arrested leader Syed Zaman Shah Rashidi at the police station on Thursday.
