FAISALABAD: Inspector General of Police Rao Sardar Ali suspended a station house officer (SHO) from service on Thursday night on charges of misbehaving with a retired deputy suprintendant of police and issuing threats to him.

The DSP concerned has also been suspended for poor supervisory role.

The IGP paid a surprise visit to the Sahianwala police station on his way back to Lahore after addressing the police officers of Faisalabad division.

Present outside the police station, retired DSP Ishaq Dhillon complained to him that SHO Qaiser Shah had misbehaved with him when he approached him for registration of a case.

Mr Dhillon of Chak 130-RB apprised the IGP that his rivals had opened fire on his vehicle and he came to the police station for a legal action against the suspects but the SHO asked his subordinates to put him (ex-DSP) behind bars.

The IGP ordered suspension of SHO Shah and the DSP concerned.

A senior officer told Dawn the CPO had been given a direction to look into the issue and report to the IG office.
