Asif spell pegs back Peshawar

LAHORE, Nov 10: Medium-pacer Muhammad Asif’s four wickets brightened Sialkot chances to gain first innings lead against defending champions Peshawar in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Gold League at the Jinnah Stadium, Sialkot on Thursday.

Asif conceded 24 runs for his four wickets as Peshawar were reeling 189-7 by close of play in reply to Sialkots’ first innings total of 276. Akhtar Sarfraz (55) was the only Peshawar batsman to show defiance.
