ISLAMABAD, Nov 9: Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) Secretary-General Iqbal Haider has expressed serious concern over the rehabilitation and reconstruction activities and called for transparency in the distribution of compensation in the earthquake stricken areas of Azad Kashmir and NWFP.

Talking to PPI, Iqbal Haider said till to date the government was not transparent in the ongoing relief activity because many affected people were still without relief goods in the earthquake hit areas.

He said the government should make the whole process transparent for the public, adding that it was accountable for every single consignment of aid arriving from foreign countries or money submitted by the general public.

He pointed out that their should be a long-term plan under which the government should take all possible measures for the survivors.
