KHAIRPUR, Nov 8: The former provincial minister and Pakistan Muslim League leader, Mr Imtiaz Shaikh, has said that summoning an all-parties conference on the Sindhi language issue is unnecessary.

Talking to reporters here on Monday at the residence of Shakir Ali Shah, Mr Shaikh said that the language issue was settled in 1972 which should be enforced. He said that high-profile crimes in Sindh should not be settled through the jirga system because bandits and criminals would get benefit through jirgas and would be set free.

He said that tribal clashes created extremely bad situation, affecting people’s social life. He ruled out any in-house change in the Sindh Assembly as the PML and its coalition parties enjoyed majority.

He said that the greater Thal canal and Kalabagh dam should not be constructed without consensus.

MANHANDLED: ASI Maqso-odur Rehman Mangan-har and his friend Mumtaz were manhandled on Monday in Qaim Gopang village of Kotdiji taluka.
